I'm writing a foreword...

...to the new Penguin Classics edition of Elizabeth von Arnim's THE ENCHANTED APRIL. To say I'm thrilled does not do justice to my feelings. Maybe this picture of a treasured Puffin paperback, c. 1968, with my name emblazoned on page 1, will illustrate why I love those orange spines. (And some day, we'll get into my fascination with Kaye Webb, Editor.)

Not to mention that I've booked a trip to the improbably named Castello Brown, in Portofino, to steep myself THE ENCHANTED APRIL, which was both set and written there. More on that subito.
